Jack on the Farewell Sale, and why Nigel's sums are nearly right

Jack on the Farewell Sale, and why Nigel's sums are nearly right
We made a short comedy about my Farewell Sale. Nigel's arithmetic is terrible. His reasoning is not.

From our little comedy: Margaret comes home to three bags on the kitchen table.
After 29 years of ready-made bags, I am going custom-only. What is left of the ready-made work is in the Farewell Sale, at up to 80% off, and none of it will be made again.
You may have just watched Nigel explain to Margaret why three new bags is saving money. It is a sketch, and Margaret is right about the house. But Nigel has put his finger on the one thing that matters: once these are gone, they are gone.

"He's never making them again, Margaret."
Since 1997 I have made bags the slow way: waxed cotton canvas, full-grain crazy horse leather, and stitching meant to outlast the person carrying it. From here on I will only make pieces to order, one person at a time.
So the shelf is being cleared. The Doolin weekender in four colours, the Harrogate and Connemara rucksacks, the Missoula and Keswick travel bags, the Ottawa sling and the rest of the ready-made work.

The Harrogate rucksack in coffee
And yes, Nigel's line is real. Buy two bags and an extra 20% comes off, three takes off 25%, four takes off 30%. It is applied automatically at checkout.

The Connemara rucksack in army green
The Doolin, for the weekend
Waxed cotton canvas on the outside, full-grain crazy horse leather on the base and the handles, 38 litres inside. It goes in the boot on Friday and comes out on Sunday looking better for it.
"I was looking for a timeless, handcrafted bag and Jack Reid exceeded my expectations. Its durability, design and craftsmanship make it my go-to bag for both work and travel. I get compliments every time I wear it. Arrived in Manchester in four days."
The Harrogate, for the day
A rucksack with a buckled leather flap, a sleeve for a 15-inch laptop and a zipped pocket on the back panel that nobody sees while it is on your back.

"The quality of my Jack Reid bag is unparalleled. The leather is incredibly soft and the attention to detail is impressive. Whether I'm at the office or out for dinner in Dublin, it adds a touch of elegance to my look."
The Connemara, for the weather
Waxed canvas that lets the rain roll off, and magnetic buckles on the front flap that open with one hand.
"Ordered on a Monday and it was on my doorstep in Ennis by Thursday, beautifully wrapped with a handwritten note from Jack. The leather feels rich and authentic straight out of the packaging, and the design is both practical and stylish. You can tell this was made with care."
The travel bags
The Missoula and the Keswick, the weekend bags I made for people who pack the night before and still forget the charger.
"Jack Reid bags perfectly combine style and functionality. The design is sleek and the compartments are well thought out; my laptop and notebooks fit with room to spare. A luxury item, but also practical for everyday use."
Buy more, save more
Two bags take an extra 20% off, three take 25% off and four take 30% off. It happens on its own at checkout, so there is nothing to type.
"What sets my Jack Reid bag apart is its versatility. Whether it's a business meeting in London or a weekend away, it adapts to any occasion effortlessly. The leather ages beautifully, making it an investment I'll cherish for years."
Free delivery, 30 days to decide
Delivery is free to the UK and Ireland. If a bag is not right, send it back within 30 days.
"I bought this for my husband's birthday and it arrived in Cork beautifully wrapped, with a handwritten note from Jack. The leather is gorgeous and the stitching is perfect. A week in, I'm already borrowing it more than he does."
The Doolin, against the bags you have been buying
Synthetic fabric that looks tired in a year
Bonded leather that peels at the handles
Made by the thousand, again next season
Full price every time
Waxed cotton canvas that takes on a patina
Full-grain crazy horse leather
The last of 29 years of ready-made work
Up to 80% off, more off when you take two or more
When this shelf is empty, it stays empty.
The honest bit, and the honest price
This is a farewell sale because I am changing from ready-made bags to pieces made to order. After 29 years, these bags will not be made in this form again.
Prices are up to 80% below the usual price. The Doolin is £154.95 against £619.95, and the Harrogate £107.95 against £540.95. I have put both figures in front of you rather than hiding one.
I bought this for my husband's birthday and it arrived in Cork beautifully wrapped, with a handwritten note from Jack. The leather is gorgeous and the stitching is perfect. A week in, I'm already borrowing it more than he does.

For weekends, commutes and the long way round.

Margaret takes the Harrogate. Nigel had saved the most on that one.
Take your time. Look at what is left and pick what fits your week. Delivery is free across the UK and Ireland, and if something is not right you can send it back within 30 days.
Thank you for 29 years. I hope one of these earns a place by your door.
