Terms of service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Jack Reid online store at gh9rkg-ue.myshopify.com and any purchase you make with us. By browsing our store or placing an order, you agree to these terms in full. Please read them carefully before completing a purchase.

1. About Jack Reid

Jack Reid is a small, independent leather workshop. Our store sells a finite collection of leather goods while stocks last. All products are handcrafted in limited quantities and will not be reproduced once sold. This means availability is not guaranteed, and we encourage you to complete your purchase promptly if you find something you love.

2. Eligibility

To place an order with Jack Reid, you must be at least 18 years of age, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian. By submitting an order, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract and that all information you provide to us is accurate and complete. Our store is available to customers in Ireland and the United Kingdom. We do not currently accept orders from other regions.

3. Orders and Acceptance

Browsing our store and adding items to your cart does not constitute a binding order. An order is placed when you submit your payment details and click to confirm your purchase. Once your order has been received, we will send you an order confirmation by email. This confirmation is an acknowledgement that we have received your order — it is not an acceptance of it.

A binding contract between you and Jack Reid is formed only when we dispatch your order and send you a dispatch confirmation. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at our discretion, including in circumstances where:

  • An item has sold out or is no longer available after your order was placed;
  • A pricing or product description error is identified;
  • We are unable to verify your payment or billing details;
  • An order appears to be fraudulent or placed in breach of these terms.

If we cancel your order, we will notify you promptly and issue a full refund to your original payment method. You will not be charged for any item that we are unable to fulfil.

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices on the Jack Reid store are displayed in GBP (British Pounds Sterling). Where applicable, prices include VAT as shown at checkout. For customers in Ireland, local taxes may be displayed separately at checkout in accordance with applicable regulations.

We accept all major payment methods available through our secure checkout. Payment is taken at the time of placing your order. We take reasonable care to ensure that all prices shown are accurate; however, if a pricing error is discovered after your order is placed, we will contact you with the correct price and give you the option to confirm your order at the correct price or receive a full refund.

Where multi-buy discounts are available, these will be applied automatically in your cart — no discount codes are required. The discount will be clearly reflected in your order total before you confirm payment.

5. Shipping and Delivery

Jack Reid ships to addresses in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Delivery estimates and available shipping options are shown at checkout. While we aim to dispatch all orders promptly, delivery timescales are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by couriers or circumstances outside our control.

As both Ireland and the United Kingdom are our standard shipping destinations, no additional customs duties or import taxes are applied to orders within these regions under normal circumstances. If any such charges do apply in exceptional cases, they remain the responsibility of the customer.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Jack Reid store — including but not limited to product photographs, descriptions, branding, logo, graphics, and written copy — is the intellectual property of Jack Reid or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and trade mark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any of our content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted provided you do not alter the content or remove any attribution.

7. Prohibited Use

When using the Jack Reid store, you agree not to:

  • Use the store for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in connection with an order;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our website or systems;
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to extract data from our store without our permission;
  • Engage in any conduct that disrupts or impairs the normal operation of our website;
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of Jack Reid or any third party.

We reserve the right to cancel orders, restrict access, or take any other action we reasonably consider appropriate if we believe you have breached these prohibitions.

8. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law — including your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK) or the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and related Irish consumer legislation.

Subject to the above, Jack Reid's total liability to you arising out of or in connection with your use of our store or any order placed shall not exceed the price paid by you for the item or items in question. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of profit or loss of data, arising out of your use of our store.

We make every effort to ensure that product descriptions and images are accurate, but minor variations in colour or finish may occur due to the nature of handcrafted leather goods and differences in screen display. These do not constitute a defect.

9. Consumer Rights

These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. If you receive an item that is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you are entitled to a remedy in accordance with your applicable consumer rights legislation. To raise a concern about an order, please get in touch via our contact page.

10. Governing Law

For customers in the United Kingdom, these terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

For customers in Ireland, these terms are also governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights afforded to you under Irish law. Nothing in this clause prevents you from relying on the consumer rights available to you in Ireland.

11. Changes to These Terms

As Jack Reid is a closing-down workshop, we do not anticipate significant changes to these terms. However, we reserve the right to update or amend these Terms of Service at any time. Any changes will take effect from the date they are published on this page. Your continued use of the store after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend checking this page periodically.
