Jack on the Harrogate and the pocket nobody finds

Jack on the Harrogate and the pocket nobody finds
In our comedy, Frank's grandson searches the whole rucksack for his wallet and comes up empty. That pocket is why I made it this way.

From our little comedy: "Find my wallet, then."
After 29 years of ready-made bags, I am going custom-only. The final Harrogates are £107.95, down from £540.95. They will not be made again.
On the back panel of the Harrogate, the side that rests against you, a zip runs down the edge beside the shoulder strap, tucked under a fold of canvas. You cannot see it while the bag is on. That is where the wallet, the passport and the train tickets go. Anyone after them has to get through you first, as Frank says.

The back pocket: a zip down the edge of the back panel, beside the shoulder strap.
Inside there is a quilted sleeve for a 15-inch laptop, a zipped pocket and slot pockets. The main compartment closes with a drawstring under a buckled leather flap, and the front pocket has its own buckles.
The body is waxed cotton canvas; the flap and the trim are oil-tanned, full-grain crazy horse leather. Both age well. Frank calls himself vintage. The bag will get there too, just more slowly.

The Harrogate in light grey
It holds 23 litres and comes in coffee, army green and light grey. Joan took the grey.

The Harrogate in army green
The pocket nobody finds
A zipped pocket down the edge of the back panel, beside the shoulder strap, the side that rests against you. The zip is tucked under a fold of canvas. Wallet, passport, tickets: while the bag is on your back, nobody behind you can get at it.
"I was looking for a timeless, handcrafted bag and Jack Reid exceeded my expectations. Its durability, design and craftsmanship make it my go-to bag for both work and travel. I get compliments every time I wear it. Arrived in Manchester in four days."
A sleeve for the laptop
A quilted sleeve inside for a 15-inch laptop, so it rides upright against your back instead of rattling about at the bottom.

"The quality of my Jack Reid bag is unparalleled. The leather is incredibly soft and the attention to detail is impressive. Whether I'm at the office or out for dinner in Dublin, it adds a touch of elegance to my look."
A flap you can trust
The main compartment closes with a drawstring under a dark leather flap, held by two buckled straps. Nothing falls out when you lean over.
"Ordered on a Monday and it was on my doorstep in Ennis by Thursday, beautifully wrapped with a handwritten note from Jack. The leather feels rich and authentic straight out of the packaging, and the design is both practical and stylish. You can tell this was made with care."
Pockets on the outside
A front pocket with its own buckles and two side pockets, for the things you reach for all day.
"Jack Reid bags perfectly combine style and functionality. The design is sleek and the compartments are well thought out; my laptop and notebooks fit with room to spare. A luxury item, but also practical for everyday use."
Materials that age well
Waxed cotton canvas and oil-tanned, full-grain crazy horse leather. Both darken and soften with use. Frank calls that vintage.
"What sets my Jack Reid bag apart is its versatility. Whether it's a business meeting in London or a weekend away, it adapts to any occasion effortlessly. The leather ages beautifully, making it an investment I'll cherish for years."
Day bag, weekend bag
23 litres and 45 by 35 by 15 centimetres. Enough for a day in town, small enough for the train.
"I bought this for my husband's birthday and it arrived in Cork beautifully wrapped, with a handwritten note from Jack. The leather is gorgeous and the stitching is perfect. A week in, I'm already borrowing it more than he does."
The Harrogate, against the rucksacks you have been buying
Wallet in the front pocket, in reach of anyone
Laptop loose at the bottom
Nylon that looks tired in a year
A zip that splits
A hidden zipped pocket against your back
A quilted 15-inch laptop sleeve
Waxed canvas and crazy horse leather that age well
A drawstring under a buckled leather flap
The bag's new. I'm vintage.
The honest bit, and the honest price
This is a farewell sale because I am changing from ready-made bags to pieces made to order. After 29 years, the Harrogate will not be made in this form again.
The clearance price is £107.95, against the usual price of £540.95. I have put both figures in front of you rather than hiding one.
